Industrial CO₂ Capture: Stopping Emissions at the Source
Overview
Gigaton CO₂ Industrial is the industrial-focused arm of Gigaton CO₂ Ltd, established to advance the deployment of CO₂ capture solutions across hard-to-abate industrial sectors.
Our industrial capture technology targets emissions from shipping, offshore energy, and distributed industrial applications. Compact, low-energy capture units are engineered to capture 85–95% of CO₂ from fossil fuel exhaust streams, delivering high-purity CO₂ suitable for storage or reuse.
With tightening regulations such as the IMO 2030 Carbon Intensity Indicator and rising carbon costs under schemes including the UK Emissions Trading Scheme, Gigaton CO₂ Industrial provides a practical, scalable compliance pathway for sectors with limited decarbonisation alternatives.
A compact and efficient carbon capture system designed for real world deployment:
- 85 – 95 % CO₂ capture with 95 – 99 % purity
- < 200 kilowatt hours per tonne of CO2 captured
- Modular form with 65 percent smaller footprint than amine systems
- Built for vibration, corrosion, and space limited installations
- Field trial prototype now entering build phase
The system captures CO₂ from exhaust gases including diesel, HFO, gas, and biofuels. Captured CO₂ is compressed and either stored or utilised in applications such as the Gigaton CO₂ battery.
Typical installation sites include:
- Maritime vessels such as tankers and ferries
- Offshore energy platforms
- Small industrial emitters near CCUS infrastructure
Development Status and Call to Action
Our Industrial CO2 Capture technology is now entering the build phase for a full-scale field trial prototype. Field trials are planned to commence in Q4 2026, targeting installations in shipping, offshore energy, and distributed industry. We are actively seeking collaboration with stakeholders interested in pilot deployment, investment, or technical partnership. If you are interested in supporting or deploying this technology, please get in touch.
