Breakthrough in Carbon Capture Technology
Gigaton CO2 Limited is excited to announce what we believe is one of the largest breakthroughs in CO2 capture technology ever developed.
Our CO2 streaming technology is called Direct Water Capture (DWC) and involves removal of CO2 from water sources including seawater and fresh water, thus leaving the water able to reabsorb CO2 from the atmosphere (multiple Patents Pending).
DWC also offers the potential to directly capture and concentrate CO2 from exhaust/flue emissions at point of source.
This technology has the potential to capture Gigaton quantities of CO2 P/A with a target of 1GT P/A within 3 years, 10GT P/A within 5 years and 50Gt P/A within a decade.
The technology is infinitely scalable, cost effective, does not require unrealistic levels of infrastructure and can be retrofitted/adapted to existing infrastructure in many cases.
Examples of potential applications:
ONSHORE: any carbonate rich water source including rivers, lakes, hydro electric plants, nuclear plants, public water systems, agriculture, sewage plants, water transportation pipelines and a wide range of gravity fed systems.
OFFSHORE: existing, redundant and new subsea installations including EOR, produced water both offshore and onshore (fracking), CCS and shipping.
EXHAUST/FLUE GASES: exhaust/flue gases from power stations, diesel generation equipment and essentially any large scale fossil fuel power generation application.
